Delayed Capture
Set a countdown timer before a capture fires — perfect for capturing menus, tooltips, and transient UI states.
How to Use
Section titled “How to Use”- Start any capture mode (Area, Window, or Screen)
- In the capture overlay, set a delay timer (in seconds)
- Position your screen as needed (open menus, hover elements, etc.)
- The capture fires automatically after the countdown completes
Delay Modes
Section titled “Delay Modes”Delayed capture works with all capture types:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Delayed Area | Countdown starts after you select a region, then captures that region |
| Delayed Window | Countdown starts after you select a window |
| Delayed Screen | Countdown starts, then captures the full screen |
The Countdown Overlay
Section titled “The Countdown Overlay”When a delay is active, a visible countdown overlay appears on screen showing the remaining seconds. This helps you time your actions precisely.
Configuring the Delay
Section titled “Configuring the Delay”Set the default delay duration in Settings → Capture:
- Delay Duration: Choose how many seconds to wait (0 = no delay)
- Show Cursor: Toggle whether the cursor appears in the delayed capture
These settings apply to all delayed captures.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Dropdown menus — Open the menu, then let the delayed capture fire
- Hover states — Trigger tooltips or hover effects before capture
- Context menus — Right-click and position before the screenshot
- Animations — Time the capture to a specific animation frame
