QR Code Scanning

hypershot can decode QR codes and barcodes straight off your screen — no phone photo, no second app. Freeze the screen, and every code in view is scanned at once.

  1. Trigger the scan codes capture mode from its shortcut (see Keyboard Shortcuts — assignable in Settings → Shortcuts)
  2. The screen freezes and hypershot decodes every QR code / barcode visible on the current screen
  3. Detected codes are listed with their decoded contents — click one to copy it to the clipboard

Codes are scanned from a frozen snapshot rather than the live screen: moving content (a video, an animation, a scrolling page) blurs codes past recognition, and a still frame guarantees a clean read. The freeze is automatic in this mode — nothing extra to press.

  • Codes too small to scan? Capture the region into the editor first and zoom — the decoder reads from the frozen frame at native resolution
  • Multiple codes on screen all decode in one pass; each is listed separately
  • Results are plain text: URLs open in your browser when clicked if they’re links

Both platforms scan identically — the decoding is built into hypershot’s capture pipeline, not an OS feature.
