Annotation Tools

hypershot includes 14 annotation tools and utilities to mark up your screenshots.

The Toolbar

The toolbar appears at the bottom of the editor. Click a tool to select it, or use keyboard shortcuts.

Available Tools

Pen	P	Freehand drawing, handwritten notes
Highlighter	H	Highlighting text and areas
Line	L	Connecting elements, underlining
Rectangle	R	Highlighting areas, boxes
Ellipse	O	Circles, ovals, highlighting
Text	T	Labels, descriptions, notes
Counter	C	Numbered steps, callouts
Spotlight	S	Drawing attention by dimming surroundings
Redact	X	Hiding sensitive information
Sticky Note	N	Comments, callouts, feedback
Artboard	—	Cropping the canvas to a specific area
OCR	—	Extracting text via optical character recognition

Tool Options

When you select a tool, options appear above the toolbar:

• Color — Click to open the color selector
• Size/Width — Adjust stroke thickness
• Style — Tool-specific options (arrow style, fill mode, etc.)
• Shadow — Toggle drop shadow on/off (available on most tools)

Common Actions

• Draw — Click and drag on the canvas
• Edit — Double-click an annotation (for text)
• Move — Click and drag an existing annotation
• Resize — Drag the corner or edge handles
• Delete — Select and press Delete

Tips

• Quick switch — Use keyboard shortcuts to change tools fast
• Last settings — Tools remember your last used settings
• Modifier keys — Hold Shift to constrain proportions
