Spotlight
Highlight an area by dimming everything else.
Shortcut: S
How to Use
Section titled “How to Use”- Select the Spotlight tool (press S)
- Click and drag to draw the spotlight area
- Everything outside the spotlight is dimmed
You can add multiple spotlights to highlight several areas.
Options
Section titled “Options”| Option | Values | Description |

| Shape | Circle, Rectangle | Spotlight shape |
| Overlay Color | Any color | Color of the dimmed area |
Shape Options
Section titled “Shape Options”- Circle — Elliptical spotlight (softer focus)
- Rectangle — Rectangular spotlight (precise boundaries)
Overlay Color
Section titled “Overlay Color”The overlay color applies to ALL spotlights in your document. It’s a global setting so all your spotlights look consistent.
Common choices:
- Black — Classic dimming effect
- Dark gray — Softer dimming
- Custom colors — For branded or stylized looks
- Focus attention — Great for “look here” moments
- Multiple spotlights — Highlight several areas at once
- Combine with arrows — Add an arrow pointing to the spotlight
- Adjust opacity — Use a semi-transparent overlay color
