Eye Dropper & Copy Color
Pick any color on your screen and reuse it in your annotations — or copy it for anywhere else.
Using the Eye Dropper
Section titled “Using the Eye Dropper”While any annotation tool is active, the tool options color swatch opens the color selector, which includes an eye dropper. With the dropper open, move over any pixel — hypershot samples the screen under the cursor and previews the color live.
- Click to accept the sampled color; it becomes the active annotation color
- The sampler reads a small area around the cursor (not a single pixel), so anti-aliased edges pick the color you actually see
- Works on macOS and Windows
Copying a Color
Section titled “Copying a Color”From the color selector you can copy the current color’s hex value to the clipboard — handy for matching a brand color in another app, a design tool, or CSS. Paste it anywhere that accepts hex codes.
- Sample from your own screenshot: if the color lives in an image you have, open it in the editor and sample directly from it
- Favorite frequently-sampled colors (see Color Selector) so you don’t re-pick them every session
