Color Selector
hypershot’s color selector gives you fast, flexible control over annotation colors.
Choosing a Color
Section titled “Choosing a Color”Click the color swatch in the tool options bar to open the color selector. Pick any color using:
- Color wheel / spectrum — Click to choose your color
- Hex input — Enter an exact color code
- Opacity — Adjust transparency
Color Favorites
Section titled “Color Favorites”Save up to 6 favorite colors for quick access. Favorites persist across sessions, making it easy to maintain a consistent color palette for your annotations.
Color History
Section titled “Color History”The selector automatically tracks your last 6 used colors. No need to remember hex codes — your recent picks are always one click away.
Eyedropper
Section titled “Eyedropper”Need an exact color from anywhere on screen? With the color selector open, press I to activate the eyedropper:
- A small panel follows your cursor, showing a zoomed 7×7 view of the pixels under it plus the center pixel’s hex value
- Click anywhere on screen to sample that color
- The color is applied to the current tool immediately — and it’s undo-safe
Press Escape to cancel the eyedropper without sampling.
- Build a palette — Save your brand colors as favorites so every screenshot stays on-brand
- Quick reuse — Check history before opening the full selector
- Per-tool colors — Each tool remembers its last used color independently
