Ocr Capture
Extract text from any region of your screen using built-in OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
How to Use
Section titled “How to Use”- Open the system tray menu and select OCR Capture (or press the default shortcut, ⌘⇧O on macOS / Ctrl+Shift+O on Windows)
- Click and drag to select the area containing text
- Release to run OCR — recognized text is copied to your clipboard automatically
- Optionally, the text opens in your configured text editor
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”OCR Capture is available when your platform supports native text detection:
- macOS — Uses the built-in Vision framework
- Windows — Uses Windows OCR APIs
If OCR is not available on your platform, the menu item and toolbar button are hidden.
OCR in the Editor
Section titled “OCR in the Editor”You can also run OCR on an existing capture from the editor:
- Set an artboard crop around the text you want to extract
- Click the OCR button in the toolbar
- Recognized text is copied to your clipboard
OCR Settings
Section titled “OCR Settings”Configure OCR behavior in Settings → OCR:
Open OCR text in
Section titled “Open OCR text in”Choose which application opens the extracted .txt file after OCR runs. Leave blank to use the system default text editor.

Section titled “Open text editor after copying OCR text”When enabled, the recognized text file is automatically opened in your text editor after being copied to the clipboard.
Hotkey
Section titled “Hotkey”You can assign a custom hotkey for OCR Capture in Settings → Hotkeys:

- Select tight — Crop close to the text for better accuracy
- High contrast works best — Dark text on light backgrounds gives the best results
- Multiple lines — OCR handles multi-line text selections
- Clipboard first — Text is always copied to clipboard, even if the editor is disabled
